Voting begins in Antica!
At 12:20 AM EST this morning, Delphi Augustus opened the polls for the chancellorial election. The current options are Gemini, and Not Gemini.
This is the second time this year that there has been an uncontested election season. The question on everyone's mind is if this is the doing of a sick and twisted shadow government (which I sincerely hope it is) or just coincidence (which would be far less exciting).
The election is sceduled to end on Monday at the latest, but as per Dinarchial Decree number Seven, the voting may end earlier if every citizen has voted. Gemini is, at the moment, expected to win by the skin of his teeth over Not Gemini.

KZFO returns with a new broadcaster!
Yes, I know it's been quite some time since anyone has put up a broadcast. Thanks to the resolution of my hosing problems (which ended with me in possession of a beautiful 5 gig allotment of bandwith), I now present to you the second installment of KZFO, with Brandon Sullivan as the new head broadcaster. I'll probably sneak a few broadcasts of my own in, but for the most part it will be his show. And although the South Carolinian accent takes some time to get used to, the content is up to the same high standards we always use. So enjoy!
EDIT: It's now available through the Zulu 5 Oscar download page, located at http://zulu5oscar.net.tf/.

We're back!
We now would like to announce that, after a few hit-and-miss hosting attempts, the Definitive Micronational Index is now, once again, fully operational with a NEW AND IMPROVED search engine for the ENTIRE SITE! The mere thought of it gives me goosepimples of excitement. Special thanks to the good people of 5gigs.com for the web space. The site (conveniently) is still located at www.micronations.co.nr.

The long awaited teaser!
Yes, that's right! Foghorn has finally gotten of his fat, lazy butt and started part two of his novel! The teaser (which is only the first chapter), as well as the revised edition of Part the First, can be downloaded here, at a hastily constructed temporary site for Zulu 5 Oscar. Enjoy, and don't be afraid to post a comment on this blog detailing your excitement!

Exams over, Anticans start to pick up steam
With the end of the AP exams (college level examinations taken by High School students), things have gotten back up to full steam in Antica. Additionally, a Halo fragfest seems to be in the works for New York based Anticans. No word as of yet if any non-Anticans in the area will be invited.
In the senate, every hotly debated topic from the last few days has either been tabled, or moved directly to a vote, thus leaving the usual floatsam of bills that no one really cares about anymore. One such example is the Draft Act. Proposed by Foghorn a while back, and supported by many, it has simply died away to obscurity, and is rotting away in the main chamber. However, with the much anticipated soon-to-be passing of the 7/10 agreement, allowing the Senate to override Dinarchial Decrees, the debate over provincial governments, and more specifically a province where multiple citizenships will be tolerated, is expected to resume in earnest.
Our thoughts are also with Robert, better known as Vladimir Alexi of Novaya Zemlya, as he undergoes surgery and starts the recovery process. As he said in a post in Gotzborg...

Our thoughts are also with Robert, better known as Vladimir Alexi of Novaya Zemlya, as he undergoes surgery and starts the recovery process. As he said in a post in Gotzborg...
Tomorrow (well really later today, I guess) at 4pm will begin the surgery to remove part of my right leg. I will likely be in the hospital for about a month; and my recovery time will be around three-four more months. Once I get home, I am told that I will be exceedingly sleepy, needing frequent naps (nothing new about that haha). I will do my best to return as soon as possible. This will be the second time I have left you all in a hurry like this; so if you want to be upset with me, I don't blame you.Our thoughts and prayers go with him and his family.
This entire thing was actually scheduled, but not until July. I wanted to have my birthday (June 7th) with family and friends first. But this evening my leg had somehow gotten so bad that I can no longer even feel my foot. After a trip to the ER, and my oncologist and orthopaedist coming in to look, they are pretty much demanding we do this now before an infection sets in that could kill me. So off I go...
I hope to be back in about 5-6 weeks at most. I will ask Angel to stop in as often as possible to let you all know what's up. Please excuse her if she cannot make it here as often as we'd all like; but between work, Chloe, and me being in the hospital, she'll be very busy.

The Latest from Antica
Well, here's a wrap-up of the last few days:
FOGHORN HAS PROBLEMS
Yes, I know I do. I've maxed out my bandwith for the month on both the Definitive Micronational Index and the Zulu 5 Oscar site. Normally I'd link you to the sites I just referenced, but that would be a very bad idea, especially seeing as the nice people at f2g.net have threatened to yank my hosting (AAHHHHH!). Hopefully the issues can be resolved, and we'll be back up and running without any money needing to be spent. Until then, STAY AWAY!
POLITICS
As we near the elections, Antica has found herself just as in the dark about who will win as they did last week. No candidates have begun a fullscale campaign, but the onslaught of hideous political sig banners is expected to start sometime this week.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS
Foghorn has been oficially made Archon of Foreign Affairs. And, in celebration, drinks in the bar are on him. As his first official act, he negotiated a treaty of mutual recognition with Aryez, the renegade nation formed by a slightly insane fromer Antican. The treaty has already been ratified by all parties involved.
SENATE
Bills up for debate:
Education Enhancement Act: To use midgets as motivational tools in education.
Award Reform Bill: To reform the awards system
New 7/10 Agreement: Senate overrides of Dinarchial decrees
To Vote:
Bill Revision Authority Act: To allow the Senate to review and edit old bills (currently 7-1 in favor)
The Electoral Act: New procedire for elections (currently 7-1 in favor)

Elections a mere 10 days away
With only 10 days before the Antican election season, the Wulaptonachgat staff would like to present a little something we call... Politicians on Parade. And now, all the probable candidates:
Foghorn
Immigrated on 19 October, 2004. Since, has founded the NWP (Socialist) party, been Chancellor once before, and proposed more sucessful legislation than any other citizen in recent memory. During his last reign of terror, Antica attacked Avalonia, the economy dropped into a recession, and the nation began to stagnate.
Gemini-DC
Immigrated 20 December 2004. Since, has been head of the NWP, Domestic CO, Immigration CO, is a current supreme court justice, and chairman of the Government Reform Committee, as well as a member of the Economics committee. Under his leadership, Antica recovered from Foghorn. He is sometimes seen as a radical reformer, and may have caused the latest anti-party fervor.
Steven
Immigrated 10 November 2004. Has been Judicial CO, and has the record for unsucessful lawsuits in the history of Antica. Also has a bad habit of talking about certain parts of anatomy.
Olorix
Well, he's not running.
Greg
Incumbent Chancellor. Immigrated 10 November 2004, and has been Technology CO, on various committees, and has helped Antica grow technologically by leaps and bounds. His first attempt at citizenship was as Ethan Aster.
And that's it! For those who come out of left field, we apologize, and will promptly make fun of you as well.

So much news, so little hosting space left!
Well, it appears that the MNN is marginally working again. So, we now present: EVERYTHING!
INTERNATIONAL:
Not much really happened. An implosion here, the beginnings of a cold war there... par for the course. Cibola has recently exploded with activity, like the powderkeg we all knew it was. Cibolenland has been taken over by revolutionaries after a double or even triple login scandal, and Avalonia is claiming more land than it knows what to do with. And Baracao is still dead.
BUSINESS:
MX2 WAS FINALLY RELEASED! In a post on the Micronations.net forums, the official release was announced. The bank can be found here. At the moment, five nations (Storjord, Sullifree, Aerlig, Arzania, and Mayo) are using the system to make transactions.
In another surprise move, Zulu 5 Oscar seems to have pulled itself out of a recession, and has sucessfully invaded three new markets. Additionally, they have decided to release an HTML version of their website, which should be fully coded in PHP and operational (form based order system inclusive) by the fall. The site, once again, is http://zulu5oscar.net.tf/.
ANTICAN:
The Anticans have started debate on a number of issues, most dealing with the recent relative inactivity. Since January, a steady decline has befallen the nation of (as of January) 18 active citizens. Unfortunately, that number has fallen to below 15 (actual numbers to come with the next census). For debate in the senate at the moment are resolutions allowing a Shireroth inspired province system, and even a mechanism to allow multiple citizenships. Whether or not these measures are actually going to pass is still questionable, but there is definitely strong support on both counts.
ARYEZI:
Yes, I know, this is supposed to be an Antican paper. However, the Aryezi government paid me a nice chunk of change to advertise their new nation. So, here it is, in all it's splendor: Forums Website.

Xon found guilty!
The court case against Xon in Lavalon today found, after a fair trial, the defendant guilty, and has banned him from the country.
How this will affect their relations with other countries is, however, yet to be seen. Aryez (founded less than a day ago), for example, is about to elect Xon president. He is running unopposed in the general elections, and is expected to win against "not Xon". However, after Foghorn made Aryez (both the name of the nation and the name of the soverign ruler) aware of the problems that such actions would cause on the world's stage, has decided to let any Lavalonian run, provided that they announce thir candidacy before 10 AM EST (approximately).
More news as it becomes available.

Aryez claims independence
At 12 midnight tonight, Aryez and his nation have claimed soverignty. Accordingly, he has been given the boot from Antica, his citizenship papers destroyed, and his tab at the pub torn to shreads. His new nation, with a rather confusing name, can be found here.
