Two nights ago, Micronations.net returned quietly.

Now, to be fair, it's very stripped down. There is no forum---instead, it will serve almost as a mini-portal, directing visitors to recommended sites. But it is back.

MNN is back in a way through the RSSMix service, but it is going down a lot so MNS is still around, don't worry. Eventually, the two services may come together but at the moment some technical difficulties are preventing that, so Micronations.net is linking to MNS under the MNN feed just in case.

Other resources are also listed, and the aspects of the site such as the "What are micronations?" articles may be rewritten over time.

Foghorn, State Academy of Antica

The funny thing about letting other people write articles on your newsblog is that you at that point have fair excuse to have articles about yourself.

Foghorn can be lazy, to be honest. After founding MNS I asked him to remove the Eastern Benacia podcast which has its own feed that it should be updating, the single episode of Micronations Now because... to be honest it's not likely I'll be doing anymore, and the two Antican Newscast Specials or whatever they're called because they conflict with posts from the Antican Liberator. He's still yet to do so, and honestly it might not matter because I've been able to add enough other feeds that they are buried deep on the first page.

However, if you look to the right he can be awesome. What MNS has for now, a Gregarius install, is pretty nice---way better than Lilina---and you can thank him for that. And if you look to the right, he seems to be doing me a big favor by calling himself a Micronational News Service Accredited News Source. While MNN had accreditation a long time ago, MNS does not yet. In other words, it is basically a blatant plug for MNS. I appreciate it. I also appreciate the board the Commonwealth of Antica is providing and the link Shireroth has given me on their Wiki and their forum.

Meanwhile, some interesting sources provided for MNS... Marlabor says from Shireroth is the most interesting. The big-person-or-character says... boxes used to be a big thing in micronationalism. Marlabor says might be the last one left. While it is mainly intended for those who are as familiar with Shireroth as they can be, it's still a good update.

Meanwhile, the State Academy of Antica is gearing up for its first classes on the path to grant its first Bachelor's Degrees in Education. Go to the site for more on that.

As I set up the Micronational News Service, I had a few things on my mind?

What the heck happened to Attera?

Apparently it still exists in some form. There are several forums I found partially due to the slpit they had, none of which were particularly active---but I found a news feed for them that had been updated in the last four months.

What the heck happened to Cyberia?

It had some squabbling over a split of some sort way back when, but I'm not 100% sure of the answer.

Why is the RSS feed not outputting right?

The site itself works great but the two feeds it outputs are completely invalid and I could only get it parsed with Google reader. Go figure.

Micronational News Service begins service

Nafticon, Commonwealth of Antica - In an attempt to fill the void in one stop shopping left by the Micronational News Network, Brandon Sullivan has stepped in and begun operating his own aggregator, naming it the Micronational News Service.

Based off the code for the previous MNS established by Zulu 5 Oscar, the new version sports aggregated RSS feeds, an easier interface, and the prospect of many new features, like streaming of radio shows direct from the site.

Rumors are flying that the MCS is also working on establishing their own aggregator, using the list of feeds used by the now deceased MNN. However, the software and features, and even if such a project are is fact in progress, have yet to be disclosed.

For those wanting a quick rundown of how things will work on this new news aggregator, let me quickly run through the basics.

As with the MNN, feeds will be added by request of the owner only. The MNS aims to be an opt-in system rather than an opt-out, mostly because the staff is too lazy to check for new news sources every week. Requests can be handed to MNS@nafticon.net. Similarly, requests for removal from the MNS will be processed by the same address, and only those requests from the same email account as the original submitter of the feed will be honored, for security reasons.

Anything that is submitted will be displayed. There will be absolutely zero content filtering, monitoring, or other mechanism that keeps the news from getting to the populous. However, in an attempt to improve the quality of news sources, an accreditation system has been set up to single out those sources that best exemplify what a news source should be. In order to be considered an accredited source, it must meet most of the following requirements:

All news stories must contain at least three links to external sources backing up the views presented in the article. Three consecutive stories that violate this policy will result in the accreditation being revoked, but the news feed will remain on the website.
All articles must contain a by-line, including the author, place of publication, and a method of contacting the author, placed at the beginning of the article.
The feed in general must be considered by a majority of the administrators to be of a superior quality to the average micronational news source.
For radio shows, the show must NOT infringe upon the copyright of others, including both micronationalists and real life content creators. Clips of music less than 30 seconds in length will not be considered infringing, as they fall within the fair use policy of the United States.
Radio shows must also contain at least three pieces of news and two musical pieces. 30 second clips of music do not count. However, this requirement can be waived if an interview takes place on the show with someone featured in a news article elsewhere.

The first few sources to recieve accredidation are (to no one's surprise) this publication, the Antican Liberator, and the Bagelcratian Sporadically. More will be added as time goes on.

MNN scandal has micronations "taking sides"

The scandal that has everyone with a stake in micronationalism talking has started producing a galvanizing effect in Micras, with whole nations taking sides on the argument.

The rift started in Shireroth, Foghorn's favorite place of residence outside of Antica, where the population by and large seems to have taken Foghorn's side. Indications are that this decision was made not only because Foghorn is a local noble, but also because of the clear and concise manner in which the facts were presented to the population. However, Scott Alexander, retired micronationalist, urges the population to be cautious about going forward with any actions. The population in Shireroth seems on the verge of a complete boycott of the MNN, stemmed only by Scott's arguments, which seem to be dwindling as Foghorn presents more of his side of the story.

Antica as well has (as everyone expected) sided with Foghorn, again kept from any real action on the rising anti-MNN sentiments by Scott Alexander's counsel. How long this will keep the lid of Pandora's Box closed is unknown at this time. But clear and determined calls from within the government of Antica are already demanding that an impartial version of the MNN be established, and the current mncentre.net forum administration method be revised such that the actions of Liam Sinclair cannot happen in the future without the approval of multiple parties.

The only nation that seems to have decidedly galvanized in a manner that isn't with Foghorn is Babkha, which has taken a more neutral approach. Hesam Jahandar has made the official Babkhan position clear, stating that "...Babkha is a firm supporter of INS and Micronations.net." Their position was later clarified to mean that, according to what was posted in their forums, they would not actively engage in either side of the debate.

Other prominent micronationalists, such as Nathan Shepard of Natopia and Jacobus Loki mainly of Shireroth, have also loaned their support to Foghorn's cause.

Liam Sinclair was unable to be reached for comment due to the fact that the editorial staff has been banned from his website.

Antican News Service, trading spaces with Foghorn while he makes use of the Antican Liberator.

Mncenter.net administrator Liam Sinclair has taken the step of removing both KZFO and the Micronational Wulaptonachgat from the MNN feed, as well as banning Foghorn from even viewing the mncenter.net forums.

In response, Foghorn has published an open letter to Liam Sinclair through the Antican Liberator, offering the olive branch of peace, apologizing for any belligerent conduct, outlining the legal position that KZFO takes, and asking for the status quo to be returned "for the good of the hobby".

This spat with Foghorn, operator of this publication as well as KZFO Radio, started last week when Mr. Sinclair believed that KZFO was violating international copyright law and decided to remove KZFO from the MNN feed. Foghorn reacted in his patented knee-jerk manner, escalating the situation further by trying to explain the legality of his actions. His argument (bereft of the indecorous behavior displayed earlier this week) can be found in his open letter to Liam Sinclair.

No explanation has been offered for the banning of the Micronational Wulaptonachgat, which had not been expressedly targeted by Liam Sinclair for copyright violation.

News of this incident, specifically the removal of specific news sources from a supposedly open and objective news aggregator because of a personal grudge against the operator by Mr. Sinclair, administrator of said site and feed, has begun to spread throughout the sector. Shireroth, for example, is considering a variety of responses to the possibility that all micronational news be filtered by a single party, some more drastic than others. As of press time, no course of action has been decided upon.

What Foghorn intends to do should the olive branch fail is unclear, but according to sources, he's "working on it".

MNN discriminates against KZFO, Antica in general

In a recent post in the MNN forum, Liam Sinclair, head of the Micronational News Network, denied KZFO's request that it be re-added to the MNN feed based on its current and past compliance with United States Copyright laws. In response, Liam stated that "Micronations.net is based in Australia ... your quoting of US copyright court rulings mean nothing here", a statement that brings into question the entire Micronational media distribution system.

Liam's statement seems to imply that the only copyright law that matters in Micronational media is Australian law, which would require all Micronational radio and media organizations that want to be listed by the MNN to comply with Australian law, which differs greatly from Brittish and American law, and would essentially require all of the radio shows and most of the news sources to be de-listed from the MNN to bring it into compliance with its own rules.

Foghorn shot back, stating

"Well KZFO is based in the United States, and complies with the copyright laws in that country. In the international world of copyright, generally the rule is that as long as the company complies with the laws of the land that the server resides in, you're fine. See mp3.com, see thepiratebay.org, see any other number of examples.

I think that you just hate KZFO and Antica in general and want to keep us off the feed because nothing you've done in this area of Micronationalism is as good as we are, and you're jealous. Which is also why we haven't won a FNORD. Prove me wrong, I beg you."

With no end in sight for this conflict, the Wulaptonachgat will continue to bring you the best coverage possible.

KZFO stirring up trouble... again

It seems that Foghorn has gone off the deep end again with his new publicity campaign advertising KZFO as "pirating" other radio shows and redistributing them (see last article). However, it seems that people over at the Micronational News Network didn't appreciate his attempt, and have removed KZFO from their aggregator.

Foghorn responded to the MNN's request that he cease infringing on the copyright of others with a statement (available in its entirety at the same location as the above link) saying that his feed was simply an aggregation of other feeds, making it not a content provider itself, but rather a method for content distribution. By making this argument, Foghorn has basically attempted to group KZFO with other companies like Internet Service Providers and Proxy Servers that are, at the moment, in a legal "gray area" when it comes to copyright infringement in the United States.

He continued his argument by referencing the fact that few, if any, micronational governments have any copyright laws at all. In an interview with him today, Foghorn stated that:

"It's interesting. We style ourselves as being sovereign states, make laws, conclude treaties, and interact as if we are a world unto ourselves. But the second anyone takes advantage of a lack of micronational legal precedent, everyone jumps back and clings to their real-world countries for support, demanding that their 'rights' be upheld, and ignoring the opportunity to better the community by working things out themselves. I mean, this is a golden opportunity for a YAMO to step in and start regulating micronational copyright."

KZFO claims that their feed in no way infringes on the copyright of others, micronational or otherwise, but does note that those currently claiming that their copyright has been infringed upon have stolen the music for their shows, as well as the sound effects, from copyrighted artists without so much as an attribution in the show, and notes the hypocrisy that such actions bring to light.

As of the writing of this article, KZFO is currently presenting two shows, Radio Free Woodstania and INS Sketch Show, both of which have full attribution in the feed descriptions. The producer notes that anyone who grabbed the feed early may have gotten the non-attributed version, as the program that updates the feed was still being updated to include the attribution at the time of airing, but the issue has since been resolved.

KZFO: How to?

KZFO is a Podcast. In simple terms, it's an internet radio show that you get by "subscribing" to an RSS or XML file, known as a "feed". Don't worry, you don't need to understand the terminology to get it to work. we use the podcast format because, unlike regular radio where if you miss the show during the day you can't rewind and hear it later, podcasts allow us to record something and send it to people to listen to at their leisure. It's more convenient that way.

To get started, all you need to do is follow the three main steps.

1. Get a podcatcher.

A podcatcher is a piece of software that sits on your computer and waits for the podcast to be updated. Every time a new episode comes out, it automatically downloads the latest episode and saves it for you to listen to later. Some music programs, like iTunes and Banshee, have podcatching software built in, and can do fancy things like automatically sync the new shows to your iPod or portable music player. Here's a short list of podcatchers:

2. Subscribe

In order to get your podcatcher to start looking for new episodes, you need to tell it where to look. Each podcast has its own RSS or XML feed that you'll need to enter into the program, and each program does it differently. RSSRadio and Juice are pretty self-explanatory, and iTunes is simply in the Advanced menu, subscribe to Podcast. Here's the URL you'll need to enter:

KZFO begins broadcasting pirated news shows: Radio Free Woodstania first target

In a typical showing of blatant disregard for copyright laws and standard distribution methods, KZFO has begun re-broadcasting the "pirated" (taken without permission from their website) news shows of other feeds prominently displayed on the MNN feed. When asked for a comment, Foghorn, current director and station manager stated:

Well, we figured that we don't have enough programming to keep the airwaves busy, and since the FNORDs are run by jackasses we don't really care about playing nice anymore. Plus, being in a nation without copyright laws has its perks. Either way, we figured it's more publicity for them, content for us, and everyone's happy. Except Ben Gray. But he doesn't count.

For it's first episode back, the as of yet unnamed show on KZFO posted a rather surprising rating of 67 listeners in the micronational world (verified via unique IP hits on the file in question, Odeo and other bots excluded), and was followed up by a rating of 59 on Newscast 5, the next show to hit the feed, showing a good percentage of subscribed listeners. KZFO is looking forward to continuing its usual steamroller-like approach to media distribution.

Foghorn resigns, KZFO Radio Nafticon to go off the air

In a post in the Republic of Antica, Foghorn has officially announced his intentions to retire from Micronationalism as a hobby. He said,

My reason behind this move is quite simple: As I move closer to a job requiring a security clearance, having an organization's website and forums on my server that regularly criticizes the US, as well as seems to the untrained observer to desire soverignty, does not look good for me. Thus, I am also asking that the Republic start looking for another place to host their forums. I will gladly assist in the move if asked. Also, I fear that the inactivity in Micras as a whole is highlighting the fact that we, as a generation, are starting to age out of the hobby, a trend started with Ardashir and, according to sources, is an option under consideration by many prominent micronationalists.

As I said, this resignation will be effective after the final broadcast of KZFO on April 1, 2 years to the day since we went on the air. The final show will be recorded Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 8 PM EST, and all parties are invited to join in on the Skype line. My Skype handle is foghorn5950, and will be online at least a half hour prior to the recording. This episode will include clips from me and Steven in London with Ben Gray, Ardashir, and Ian. The editing on those clips is almost complete.

However, he does not wish to leave the hobby completely. In a move that, according to sources is being considered by many prominent micronationalists, he said that

I will not, however, be leaving altogether. As the laws of micronationalism state, one can never truly leave this hobby, and the bigger the announcement of the exit, the quicker the return. Thus, I intend to maintain my Antican citizenship, yet I don't expect to be very active from here on out.

Antican Economy stabilizes, splits in two

After a rather unorthodox re-shuffling of the powers that be, Foghorn has replaced Aryez as the Chief Financial Officer of the Republic of Antica, and enacted a few strange changes that will, he hopes, even out the economy and bring companies back in.

First, the major injections of cash into the system that were approved by Aryez have been removed from the bank. No longer do large corporations hold enough cash to threaten the stability of the economy. Also, various suspicious accounts have been rectified.

But the most interesting move of all is a complete split of the economy. The Republic is now host to two different economies, one real, and one virtual.

The real economy is managed through the phpbank and deals in actual products and services, such as images and labor. The virtual economy, managed by hand by Aryez and the Simulation Bureau, deals in virtual products, such as cars, weapons, and ships.

Foghorn hopes that the split economy will boost confidence in both systems simultaneously.

Republic celebrates 1st annaversary

One year ago on this date, the Republic of Antica was formed by a group of former Dinarchial citizens.

The Dinarchy was, according to contemporary accounts, an oppresive dictatorship where free thought was frowned upon, unless it pleased the Dinarchs (the rulers). After Delphi Augustus blocked the implementation of certain crucial legislation and more or less stated that the citizens had no rights, Octavius Me, the kinder Dinarch, abruptly left, leaving the Dinarchy in chaos. Shortly thereafter, Foghorn, Steven, and others left as well.

On the 31st of August, Chris (Octavius), Foghorn and Steven announced the founding of the Republic of Antica, a nation with no flag, no laws, and no leader. From the many immigrants to the nation a set of fundamental laws emerged, and the nation was truly born.

In the year since its founding, the Republic has become one of the giants of the Micras sector, sporting 23 citizens on its census, a functioning economy, and the second micronational casino in existence.

Aryez ruins economy, everyone mad at him again

Aryez, newly elected Cheif Financial Officer of the Republic of Antica, has screwed up the economy.

After being elected, Aryes started creating Financial Orders dictating a new structure for the office. Almost immediately afterwards, he released a massive ammount of money into the concomy causing widespread inflation, and went above his office's boundaries to create a loan system without Assembly approval.

The Assembly is responding quickly to this problem, with Foghorn spearheading the regulatory legislation, known as the "Amendment to the Economic Implementation Act". The Act, in theory, should re-implement much of the regulations imposed upon the Treasury via the Treasury Act, as well as outlining the loan process, and creating fines for late budgets.

The legislation, along with all changes, are being opposed heavily by Aryez, who created the problem in the first place, claiming that he can rectify the situation Nazi Germany style. However, the Antican government isn't ready to give him the chance to turn into Hitler.

Olorix wins, Wulaptonachgat sues

Olorix, as previously predicted by the expert political editors of the Wulaptonachgat, has won the election and will be the 5th Speaker of the Assembly, as soon as Foghorn gets around to changing the permissions.

In other news, a picture recently published by this newspaper has made its way onto the front page of the State-Run Antican Liberator, a paper published by the Orifice of the Republic. Because this paper is, and has been for quite some time, under a Creative Commons License for its readers, the Wulaptonachgat has started a lawsuit against the Liberator for violation of international copyright.

The Creative Commons License in quesion simply requires those who wish to use any content in this publication to attribute said content back to the paper. The Liberator failed to succesfully attribute the image back to the Wulaptonachgat, and so is now facing the first copyright suit in Micronational history.

Wu;aptonachgat Back, Antican Elections Progressing

Yes, the Wulaptonachgat is back from a long hiatus while the primary author, Foghorn, settles into college life. We will continue publishing this paper, free of charge and free of ads, to keep Micras informed about what's going on in Antica.

Speaking of which, the Antican elections are in full swing. At the moment, the polls have been open for approximately 24 hours, and Olorix has gained a commanding lead over Oric, with the tallies at 6-3 respectively.

The election took an interesting turn when Foghorn, a candidate that was expected to at least draw off some of the votes from Olorix, pulled out unexpectedly, citing a better ability to change the policies of the Republic as a regular citizen rather than as Speaker.

At this time, the Wulaptonachgat staff is prepared to call the elction in favor of Olorix, pictured below at a New Zealand Model UN meeting in Arab garb.

Anticalia Kicks Off with Fizzle

Anticalia is the 10-day period between the birthday of 1/2 of the founders of the Dinarchy of Antica, Chris (6/7), and the date of the founding of the Dinarchy of Antica (6/17).

This year, after sucessfully living through the second coming (6/6/06), a celebration is planned to kick off the Anticalia season.

The date of the beginning of Anticalia also happens to fall on another rather important date: the Prom for the High School to which Chris attended and Foghorn is about to graduate from. And, in a long standing tradition, the computer nerds and debate geeks of the school are staying well clear of the whole mess and forming their own "Anti-Prom". And where the "Anti-" usually stood for "Against", this year its "Antican".

The Anti-Prom this year is to be held in a local arcade, sporting laser tag, arcade games, and rides as well. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 PM sharp, in order for the computer nerds to make it home before Star Trek airs on local television.

A secondary plan is also in place in case the anti-socials decide to be even more anti-social and not show up at all, which includes dinner, a movie, and a KZFO.

The Wulaptonachgat staff will be present to report on the revelry that is sure to ensue.

Aryez guilty, for the third time

According to the first actual trial in Republican history, Aryez has been found guilty of violating the single citizenship clause of the Citizenship and Census Acts.

The fine for the offense has been set at 12p, setting the precedent of pecuniary penalties instead of political penalties, and thus giving the economy a reason for being.

Duchy of Antica Disbanded

The Duchy of Antica, the organization that until now laid claim to the original land from the Dinarchy of Antica, which the Republic of Antica has been very sore about for the last few mnths, has finally been dissolved by the Kaiser of Shireroth.

Delphi Augustus found Innocent in Shireroth

Today the month long trial of Delphi Augustus in the Tgaoth attacks on the Antican forums came to an end. Hypatia Agnesi, the presiding judge, concluded today in a post in Shireroth that "given the evidence presented, I [Hypatia] cannot in good conscience find Delphi guilty."

There has been no official response from the Republic of Antica, the majority of whose citizens believe Delphi was in fact behind the attacks. However, Foghorn noted that "...because of this ruling, I think the diplomatic situation between Shireroth and Antica will take an unfortunate turn."

The recent KZFO, number 48, was recorded before the ruling was announced, but it is expected that a follow-up episode will soon be released as well.

Antican Elections Over: Entropious Victorious

As the polls came to a close this week, the Antican population began its usual bickering and quoting of legislation to figure out what the PRH just happened. As the storm clouds settled, the winner was clear (more or less because of Foghorn's concession), and the winner was a girl from Kentucky.

Entropious has suceeded Olorix as the Fourth Speaker of the Republic, and planns to be a "uniter, not a divider".

Election difficulties continue in the Republic

The past, oh, day or so has been a headache firstly for me, secondly for everyone else trying to pay attention.

First, Gemini wished to change his vote from Careless Non-Sequitur to Entropious in order to break the stalemate of a three-way tie. Then ensued a long conversation on whether that should be allowed or not. I was hoping for a runoff vote, but eh. And then... some argued that since noone had a majority of the vote, a runoff was necessary in order for some candidate to gain the majority.

Gemini argued against a runoff, saying that there was already a winner based purely on plurality and that there were no laws stating that a runoff was required in order that someone gain a majority of the vote. This failed to take into account that noone has been speaker without a majority of the vote. Those in favor of a runoff argued that there we no laws allowing for a citizen to change his vote after making it.

This continued for 4 1/2 pages of arguing back and forth.

And then...! Someone voted, and the 3-way tie broke. Sort of.

You see, if Gemini's change of vote were taken into account, there would still be a tie. If not, the argument that a runoff in order for a candidate to gain a majority of the vote remained, since still noone had a majority of the vote. If both were ignored, Careless Non-Sequitur was elected the new Speaker. But Careless was arguing that a runoff vote was necessary.

This is where the headache begins. Do you see our, or more importantly, my plight?

Three-way tie turns Antican Election into Fish in a Blender

Chrimigules here for a less biased update to the Fourth Antican Speaker Election. At this moment, Foghorn, Entropious, and Careless Non-Sequitur are all tied with 4 votes. Nen de Mar is currently in fourth place with 2 votes. A runoff vote will have to be held if the tie stands, an event that had not taken place since the First Speaker Election, which eventually ended with me being elected (yay).

Actually I've been hoping there would be another runoff vote ever since the First Election ended in one. They're interesting, and hell... it usually means there are enough people willing to run and enough people to vote for them for such a thing to take place. I can't wait to see the revote... although I'm going to have to wait about... oh... a few days for it to happen.

According to some historians Republic has now done in less than 6 months what the Dinarchy took 2 years to do in terms of activity. However, there are fears that the Repulic is running too hot and will wear itself out. It is widely believed that the immigration policies of the candidates for Speaker this term will decide the vote.

MCS releases map version 8.0.0

The Micronational Cartography Society, the recognized entity for map making in Micras, released it's latest version (8.0.0) just minutes ago.

The update has been numbered with a new version number to reflect the massive changes that have taken place. Bill3000, the head cartographer of the organization, had this to say in an exclusive interview:

It is the enforcement of the land reduction policies that we have been soughting to do for a long time. The main obstacle to this had been the Grand Commonwealth. Why? Because Iain had threatened to delete the MCS forums if Treesia had its land reduced. So we waited until we had been completely independent from the MNN to prevent that abuse.

But it's much more than the GC, though. It is a reduction of almost (if not all, I don't remember) all micronations' land.

There will be a lot of people who will be unhappy. But ultimatly it's neccessary for the health of the map, to actually enforce our policies. There had been a lot of land abuses in the past caused by shady dealing - Yes, Shireroth, although that's partially due to its hugeness since the beginning anyway when all nations were huge, but also Babkha, Stormark, et cetera.

In the future, the rule for "no nation to get more than 1/3rd of the map's territory" will be enforced. As well, we will try to have nations' territorial inflation roughly equal to Shireroth's or a similar base, a challenging concept.Two nations' land hasn't been reduced enough, however. Aerlig and the CIS. Aerlig is going to be reduced after negotiations with Lachan by Ryan. CIS will be reduced by actually appling an algorithm we have developed to measure activity, because we frankly don't trust their "60 active citizen" claim, nation merge or not.Not even Tymaria had that many active citizens (Probably ~25 at most), and it was formed by quite a few huge micronations in its time.

Election Report: Foghorn 1 - Careless 0

In the first surprise of the election, Foghorn, the Yuschenko of Antica, came out with a relatively acceptable economic proposal, while Careless still is spinning his wheels looking for a platform to run on.

Apologizing for the PDF form, Foghorn proposed the 2 page bill to the Antican assembly yesterday, outlining a job based economy with a taxation system in place to diminish the citizen's funds and necessitate employment. Careless has yet to propose an economic outline.

Antican Election Season Begins

As Olorix's term comes to a close, the election season for the next term has already begun. With the nominations having been open for about a week, the only two candidates that seem to be in the running for the position are Careless Non-Sequitur, founder of the Progressive-Federalist Nationalist Party, and Foghorn, Steward of the Republic and Nihillalatschik Wulatenamen Party founder.

At this, the beginning of the election week, Foghorn is the only candidate to have actually declared a platform, stated his plans for the future, and already begun working on making those promises a reality. Careless, on the other hand, has been seen around the PFNP headquarters scurrying from supporter to supporter asking what he should use as a platform.

The Wulaptonachgat must here note that it is written, edited, and published by Foghorn, and is therefore slightly sympathetic to that candidate. However, the facts of the election remain that Foghorn appears momentarily stronger, unveiling his first advertising campaign last week:

Editorial: Micronational Terrorism on the Rise

The recent Tgaoth attacks on both Antican forums, the Micronational world saw the re-emergence of a fear that we all hoped was long buried: that of Micronational Terrorism.

In the past, similar acts were in fact carried out. Delphi Augustus attacked Avalonia with a spam cannon code named "Goldeneye" not too long ago. However, these were sanctioned attacks and the governments involved took responsibility for their actions. But the Tgaoth attacks, where no person has claimed responsibility, and the recent attacks on the Micronational sites hosted by 100webspace.com, we may very well be witnessing the rise of Micronational terrorist organizations: groups of people who attempt to influence public opinion (or simply gain revenge) by committing horrible and violent acts.

In these disturbing times, I would like to remind you all of the reason why you joined this hobby. It may have been as a joke, it may have been sheer curiosity, but you stayed because of the ability to make something of yourself, and be able to influence people based on your speech alone. Terrorism in Micras is perpetrated only by people who have lost all sense of honor and decency, and is the most shameful act that one could possibly commit.

I want to believe that the justice system works, and that these terrorists will be brought to justice, but as the case against Delphi Augustus (suspected of being Tgaoth) is slowly proving, the courts are slow to react. I look forward to the resolution of this trial and the conviction of Delphi as the confessed terrorist he is.

Delphi Augustus, sworn enemy of the Republic of Antica and known hacker, has been charged in Shireroth by Scott Alexander for his connection to the Tgaoth-induced disaster in the Republic of Antica.

It is unclear at this time exactly what Delphi has been charged with, however, the Wulaponachgat and her staff waits with bated breath for some Delphic arse to be kicked.

Antican forums restored, Tgaoth is first priority

The Antican Republic's forums, thanks to some ingenious database fiddling on Foghorn's part, has been restored to a point about 48 hours prior to the Tgaoth attack.

Using the corrupted database as a reference, Foghorn managed to splice in bits and pieces of other backups until he had a complete database. He notes that the process was derrived from a viewing of "Jurrasic Park" and noting the use of other animal's DNA to complete the Dino-DNA in the movie.

The first order of the Republic, as stated by Foghorn in his post in the Office of the Stewards, should be the discovery of who Tgaoth is, how Tgaoth attacked, and most elusve, why he attacked.

Tgaoth attacks all Antican forums

Tgaoth, the mysterious figure who started off the flame war between Delphi Augustus and Foghorn, has hacked both the Dinarchial and Republican forums and removed all trace of every post ever made.

The Republican government has alredy begun a forensic investigation of the event and has leads on the perpetrators. It is unknown whether real world police and law enforcement will be called in to assist in the investigation, but the option is on the table.

The Republic has taken up temporary residence in Natopia until the situation is resolved.

Delphi Punished by Shireroth

Delphi Augustus, as previously reported, was recently caught hacking into forums and claiming (once caught) that he was doing it for SHINE, the Shirerithian information gathering organization.

The Steward, Greg Russel, has decreed today in the Steward's Decree #221 that Delphi Augustus is banned permanently from SHINE, stripped permanently of all administrative rights on the forums, and barred from holding a minister-level position for two months.

The Antican and Lemurian governments could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing. Listen to KZFO episode 100 on the 14th for more, and the micronational reaction.

Foghorn resigns from Shireroth, claims government using him as Scapegoat

Foghorn resigned from the Imperial Republic of Shireroth early this morning (5:24 AM EST) after the discovery of Scott Alexander's recent Microscope article.

Foghorn claims that the Shirerithian government is using him and his alledged spying on Shireroth as a scapegoat for Delphi Augustus' transgressions in various countries. The true extent of the damage Delphi has caused is as of yet undetermined, but recent discoveries presented by the Microscope hint that the Arlanic Empire of Aryez could also have been comprimised.

Foghorn also notes in his farewell post that Delphi Augustus, through his actions as a SHINE operative, has in fact broken the legal treaties between Shireroth and the nations involved.

The Micronational Wulaptonachgat will endeavor to continue to print only the facts, taking no stance on the issues unless the word "Editorial" appears in the title.

Delphi Augustus Caught Hacking Forums

Moments ago the Wulaptonachgat recieved confirmation from its sources that Delphi Augustus has been hacking the forums of the Republic of Antica and Lemuria on a regular basis, signing in as the local administrator. This apparently was conducted under the guise of being an official SHINE operation, with Delphi claiming to be the director.

Delphi Augustus has long been known to disregard treaties and laws and conduct his own personal hacking/intelligence gathering missions.

The most recent Tgaoth affair in Shireroth was a direct result of his hacking of the Republican forums and interpereting outdated information incorrectly. A mysterious first-time poster alledged that Foghorn had been conducting espionage against the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, thus leading to his removal from his position of Steward. It is widely believed that this person is Delphi Augustus attempting to keep his promise to destroy the Republic of Antica and all her citizens, which was made back in the Fall and was well recorded.

Delphi has also been known to remove the encryption of the passwords on forums he administrates. Such actions were taken in the Dinarchy of Antica (which provided the passwords to Ardashir's account, among others, giving him access to the secret Babkhan forums), and are expected to have been taken in Shireroth without government approval.

The Wulaptonachgat will gladly reveal its sources if requested in order to prove the validity of these claims.

Aryez guilty... again.

Once again, Aryez has been charged with, arraigned, tried and found guilty of disobeying the citizenship laws of a nation he is a part of.

The nation, this time, is the Republic of Antica. Using its court system for the first time since its creation a month ago, Foghorn sued Aryez for various infractions. After a long trial, Aryez has been found guilty on all accounts.

The court hereby sentence the Defendant, Aryeztur, to:
1. Relinquish all citizenships outside the Khanate of Aryez and the Republic of Antica, if any.
2. Be denied all voting rights in the Republic of Antica for a period of one month, ending on March 1, 2006
3. Be denied the right to sue a citizen of the Republic of Antica for a period of one month, ending on March 1, 2006
4. Regard his citizenship in Aryez as a citizenship, according to Antican law, in effect being unable to apply for a citizenship in another country with or without Speaker consent.

Rumors of a trial against Foghorn for spying have begun circulating, however the rumors are unfounded as of the moment.

Aryezi trial begins: Chuck Norris presides

Two judges, Maggern and Oric, were elected by the people in the past week to serve on the Republic's newly formed judicial branch.

The first case to be brought before this dynamic duo is that of Aryez and his multiple personalities in multiple nations. The case was brought by Foghorn and is more or less a re-accusation of the offenses outlined in the Aryezi Censure Act.

Presiding over the entire process is the constant threat that anything done outside the consent of the Judges will be swiftly punished by Chuck Norris, as stated in the official rules of conduct (http://foghorn.myfxh.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=643) .

New Kaiser in Shireroth

The Kaiseress has abdicated in an unexpectedly bloodless transition and appointed Erik Mortis of Brookshire as the new Kaiser, taking the name Letifer II.

As one of his first acts, he has decreed the appointment of two new people to very old positions: Fax Celestis to Minister of Trade and Foghorn to Steward, quite possibly the most unexpected promotion ever given. How this will impact Shireroth/Antica relations and questions of Foghorn's allegiance is yet to be seen.

Antica wins war with Babkha

Antica, in accordance with the predetermined postcondition, today captured the city of York along with the Osman Shahanshah himself, Ardashir Kahn.

While Steven, Maggern, and the usual Recwar crowd were present, it was truly Foghorn's final raid on the castle at York that brought the Babkhans to their knees.

However, the issue of signing the instrument of peace has come under debate in the Republic, with a new "non-aligned" idea popping into their collective heads. The simple idea that it is, in fact, a treaty that will end the war has many Republicans on edge.

KZFO 36 lost forever

Due to conditions beyond our control, KZFO Radio Nafticon episode 36 has been lost, except for the last two minutes of audio.

Book Review: Microscope by Scott Alexander

Scott Alexander's recent publication, "Microscope", is a thought provoking, informative and humorous look at the history of micronationalism, starting with Plato and ending somewhere around a few weeks ago.

OK, now that we've got the quote for the back cover out of the way, down to brass tacks.

The novel is a whopping 10 megabytes long (or 141 pages for you fans of the hard-copy), and is packed full of graphics, facts, anecdotes and history you've probably forgotten. It is a must-read for new micronationalists who have no idea about the history of our sector, and a good laugh for those of us who've lived through at least some of the novel's scope.

Antica was another country doing very well despite the summer slump, and received an extra boost in a number of people recruited by new citizen Nick “Foghorn” Leghorn. An issue has been hotly debated in the various incarnations of Antica, ripping one country apart and making itself the focus of the elections in the other. That issue is the one of whether it is morally right under any circumstances to edit the posts made on forums.

I will go ahead and lay my bias on the table, just so you don't have to search for it. I believe that editing the posts of anyone at any time is incredibly irresponsible on the part of the administration team. Back in the Dinarchy, when it was whole, Delphi Augustus had a nasty habit of editing people's posts and deleting entire topics. However, the one thing that saved him is the fact that he noted (at least for a while, until the Republic came into being) whether the posts had been altered.

This method does have it's advantages. The roots of the primary argument for post editing with notes is the old "loose lips sink ships" slogan, which boils down to the idea that a nation's security comes before the freedom of speech. For example, if a citizen accidentally posts the real life name of certain micronationalists, it's up to the administrators to edit those posts and remove their names (such paranoid people include Delphi, Steven, etc.).

Recent days have seen a far more foul and insidious method of editing used: editing a post critiquing some aspect of the forum or the project the forum supports, and making the text read as if it were a supportive and congratulatory post. The biggest offender in this day and age? Radio Lovely*. The author recently posted on their fora, warning them about the legal ramifications of playing the copyrighted songs that appear on their show, and encouraging them to switch to legal music, such as creative commons. Here's what the administrators edited the post to say:

Constructive criticism can be very helpful. It can keep you out of jail, keep your country afloat, and even save your life. But if you disregard it, edit it to something you would like it to say, or delete it, it can't help you. In the opinion of this author, editing and deleting should never be used on any forum, for any reason. God gave man one mouth and two ears, so he could listen twice as much as he speaks. Let us not mask and mangle that speech.

*This is not an attack on Radio Lovely, nor should it be construed as such. This is simply a venting of the spleen of one micronationalist.

LBC Awards Results

While most of the awards from the Lovely Broadcasting Corporation were presented for internal achievements, there were some foreign winners.

The Foreign Comedy of the Year category was dominated by The Ben Gray Show, a KZFO production.

The Foreign Newspaper of the Year award was presented to none other than the Apollo Inquisitor.

The Foreign Presenter of the Year Award was given to Nick Leghorn.

The biggest upset came from the Foreign Radio Show of the Year category. Out of the three shows, the judges in their infinite wisdom chose the one that hasn't made a broadcast since Zemlya went down for the count a few months ago. Radio Zemlya, nevertheless, was chosen as the LBC recipient this year.

We would report on the Foreign Reporter of the Year Award, but it seems that there is no winner.

And finally, the winner for both Media Group of the Year and Newspaper of the Year was the Guardian Angel.

As expected, Danny Wallace picked up the most awards, walking away with a grand total of two personal, and racking up the remainder for his citizens. Fore more on the presentation, tune into Radio Lovely.

Political Parties in Antica... Again

After months of declaring that political parties wouldn't and couldn't form in the Republic, it seems that the theory has finally been disproven. Two parties, the Federalist Party spearheaded by Careless Non-Sequitur and the Nihillalatschik Wulatenamen Party (or Jacksonian Party), being resurrected by it's former head Foghorn.

The Federalist Party was founded at 5:23 EST today with the following post:

I hereby announce the proposal to form a new political party, the federalists. Membership is optional, and once you are a member, you are under no obligation to do anything that the party tells you. The party will, however, do things like support the independently nominated elected officers. If a party's official stance is to support a candidate, then its members will be urged but not obligated to vote for him/her.

Our main position is that we favor the expansion of executive power and giving the executive a freer hand in foreign affairs.

We support Olorix for Speaker of the Assembly.

Once we have acquired more members, we will meet in caucus to determine a formal platform.

The Nihillalatschik Wulatenamen Party was founded six minutes later with the following speech:

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are on the brink of history. We, the people who fled from the opression of the Dinarchy to found this brilliant beacon of democoracy, are at a great crossroads. For the last five months, we have beaten the odds, overcome the September lull, and above all maintained our honor.

However, there are those among us who want to return to that opression, who feel that Scott Alexander was right when he stated that a true Republic could never function in micronationalism. This must not be allowed to come to pass. We must move on towards true direct democoracy, where the people, not the "Old Boy's Club", make the decisions.

It is for this reason that I oficially re-found the Nihillalatschik Wulatenamen Party, the party that is dedicated to making Antica the true Republic that the founding fahers and mothers concieved of when they set down our fundamental laws. Foghorn resigns from Shireroth, throws hat in ring in Republic

During his stay in Shireroth, Foghorn participated in the War of Vengeance, was Minister of Immigration Naturalization and Tourism, Minister of Information and (for a brief time) Baron of Netopalis.

His announcement of his intent to run comes on the heels of Steven's decision to nominate a plate of Meatloaf (with running mate Pot Roast) to run against Olorix, the favored candidate.

Landsraad Dissolved!

As of this minute, the Shirerithian Landsraad, the popular legislature, has been dissolved.

According to Imperial Decree number 208, the legislative body shall be dissolved and re-created to the specifications of the Baronies and Duchies five days hence.

As of this moment, the Landsraad--as you know it--is no more. The Landsraad no longer has any governing procedures for itself, nor does it hold any official power. In three days time, the Landsraad will be recreated as a new political body, and shall be rebuilt from the ground up.

I fully expect a proposal from each subdivision (Elwynn, Kildare, Naudia'Diva, and the soon to be created subdivisions--there are two of you) as to how the Landsraad should be recreated. And for those of you who are democratically inclined, I would remind you now that this is a feudal society, not a democratic one: we have nobles for a reason, and the Landsraad should be a means for their use. "Everyone gets a vote" proposals will be promptly ignored, as will "Let's just not have a Landsraad" proposals. We are recreating a voting body within noble Shireroth, which is the only way to get around the Kaiser's absolute power, not starting up a revolution. I expect maturity, logic, and reason to be within the recreation process, and anyone displaying otherwise will be promptly removed from the process.

Yes, this is harsh, but I feel that it needs to be done for the betterment of Shireroth's future.

I will personally be presiding over the restructure, and I will also eventually do the final recreation of the Landsraad myself, through Imperial Decree. All powers vested in the Landsraad are thereby mine in the interim, and I will wield them as I feel necessary.

Antican Blunder disrupts Talks with Shireroth

A recently discovered treaty, proposed by The Republic of Antica and dispersed to Attera, Gotzborg, Stormark, and the Grand Commonwealth, has finally made it to Shirerithian ears. And they're not happy. The treaty was previously unknown to Antican citizens as well as foreigners.

Here's the treaty, taken from Scott's Post on the Republican forum:

DECLARATION OF NAFTICON

Whereas we have observed with alarm the growth of Shirerithian power over the proceeding year;
And whereas the Imperial Republic of Shireroth has annexed by treaty the government of the Dinarchy of Antica, which some recognize as no government at all,
Let it be known that the undersigned nations proclaim the following:

1. That the aforementioned treaty, the Treaty of Aquilaria, is unacceptable to the parties of this declaration and furthermore to the micronational community at large.
2. We therefore request the repeal of the aforesaid treaty by the appropriate organs of state within Shireroth.
3. We furthermore let it known that the terms of the aforementioned treaty are held to be illegal by the respective signatories, and will not be respected if kept in place.
4. The signatories declare that as the sole surviving government of Antica, the Antican Republic be granted full rights to all Antican land on the MCS.
5. We furthermore declare that no future annexations by the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, or any successor state, shall be judged as lawful by the body of nations.
6. It is furthermore stated that the claim of the Grand Commonwealth to Lac Glacei is supported by the signatory nations.
7. In return for its support, the government of the Republic of Antica pledges to grant Attera the territory of New Brannum upon the return of Antican lands to the aforesaid government.

This discovery makes the recently tabled Foreign Policy Act, which (initially) would give complete control over diplomatic relations to the Speaker and the Chief Foreign Affairs Officer, all the more suspicious.

It has yet to be seen if any disciplinary action will be taken against Steven for overstepping his bounds as Speaker of the Assembly. The Wulaptonachgat will continue reporting on this issue as it unfolds.

Antica rejects Aryez

After relatively little debate, the Assembly of the Republic of Antica voted today against annexing Aryez.

The nation seceeded from Lavalon last month, striking out on it's own, after it's leader became a citizen of Antica. Ever since, Aryeztur has been marketing his nation for annexation to well known and respectable nations, such as Shireroth, as well as n00bs like the Republic of Antica. On both accounts he has been solidly turned down.

Aryez continues it's search for a new nation to be annexed by and secede from at, as the Kaiser of Shireroth put it, the "...next micronation down the road."

Greg resigns as Dinarch of Antica

Greg, formerly known as Theonen and Ethan Aster, has resigned his seat as Dinarch of the Dinarchy of Antica for unstated reasons.

In his first few weeks in Antica, Greg perpetrated the biggest breech of Antican security when he operated as a spy for various hostile micronations. However, he was unmasked before he had done any damage.

Since he was accepted as a citizen of Antica under his true name, Greg has slowly become the forerunner in Antican politics, especially after the mass exodus of Anticans during the Glorious Revolution this summer. Greg was placed in his position as Dinarch after Gemini-DC, his predecessor, resigned in much the same way.

Rumors have begun spreading that Greg's resignation stems from a combination of stagnation in the Dinarchy and the oppressive reign of Delphi Augustus, the Dinarch that the Republicans were accusing of grabbing too much power for himself.

Delphi Augustus is expected to name his heir within the next few days. However, it is unclear who will be the next Dinarch, especially since a proper census has not been taken since shortly after the Rebellion. In fact, this paper is unsure if there are any citizens left in the Dinarchy at all at this point due to the lack of activity on the boards since sometime last month.

Ben Gray gets his own show on KZFO

Ben Gray has officially launched his own program, the "Ben Gray Show", on KZFO Radio.

The radio program follows the same basic principles used by Jon Stewart's "Daily Show" in presenting news in the most humourous fashion possible, and he succeeds. The show also includes podsafe music and, sources tell us, interviews on future shows.

The program is the first to take Foghorn up on his offer to put anything into the KZFO feed that people send to him. KZFO was intended, as Foghorn puts it, to "...be the BBC Radio of the micronational world, combining all of the quality radio programs into one easy-to-subscribe-to feed."

KZFO Radio is a podcast available through http://zulu5oscar.net.tf/, and is currently the method by which KZFO Radio Nafticon, the most listened to radio program in all of micronational history, is transmitted. How Foghorn or Zulu 5 OScar, the company that owns KZFO, expects to make any money at all on something they produce and distribute for free is yet to be understood, but plans are apparently in the works for advertising campaigns and/or a special subscribers only feed.

The long anticipated treaty between Shireroth and the Republic has, according to the large malicious tree known as Malarbor, passed the Landsraad with no opposition.

The treaty officially recognizes the Republic of Antica as a nation seperate from the Dinarchy, but does not specify any land changing hands. The removal of the land recognition clause was meant to ensure that Shireroth is able to maintain a treaty with both the Dinarchy and the Republic simultaneously.

However, due to the Dinarchy's Resolution 21, which threatens to sever diplomatic ties with any nation that recognizes the Republic, the Dinarchy is expected to issue the notice of dissolution of the treaty within the next 12-24 hours or be ridiculed by the entire Micras for going back on it's own foreign policy.

Underlying this treaty is a growing anti-Dinarchial sentiment, best expressed by Ben Gray's "Ben Gray Show" now on KZFO Radio, as well as his Micronational Enquirer, which posted an article detailing quite humourously how far the Dinarchy has slipped in public opinion.

Former Speaker returns home, KZFO anticipated

Sensing the oncoming three day weekend afforded to students at the university where "Chrimigules", or Christopher Mules currently attends, said Republican has purchased a bus ticket home (why he didn't ask this reporter for a lift we'll never know).

During this hiatus from his education, a KZFO episode is expected to be produced, and digital corpses are expected to pile up in a bout of Halo 2.

In other news, there is a bill on the floor of the Assembly to allow political parties to exist in Antica once again. As many of you may know, the debate over allowing political parties to exist almost split the previous Antica in half. Whether the same fate will befall the Republic has yet to be seen.

Republican Forums Back with a Vengeance

In other news, the brewing anti-steven mentality among the Stewards came to a head yesterday, and then was smacked on that head by the sledgehammer that is Rob. Everyone now feels both fine and dandy, with promises from each side of the argument not to overthrow the other, and both sides to remain level headed.

The "Definitive Micronational Index", the website that brought you many months of useful existence, has finally ceased to exist.

The site, taken down yesterday, had been operating continously since January of 2005, and had accumulated more than 62 active micronations in it's database, which was searchable via keyword, nation name, government style, and language. The site was taken down because of it's lack of usefulness in a nova-microwiki world, and the difficulty with which it was updated.

Dinarchy enacts hostile foreign policy

Barely three days after the Republic of Antica offered an olive branch (R02) to the Dinarchy, proposing mutual recognition and the burying of the hatchet, the Dinarchy has gone on the attack.

The resolution, the 21st for the Dinarchy, firmly entrenches the non-recognition of the Republic (which, paradoxically, recognizes the Republic's existence while demanding non-recognition) as well as threatens to sever all ties with countries that recognize both nations. I'll say that again for those who missed it the first time around:

THE DINARCHY HAS THREATENED TO SEVER ALL TIES WITH ANY COUNTRY THAT RECOGNIZES BOTH THE DINARCHY AND THE REPUBLIC.

Now while the resolution has yet to pass, it has unanimous support thus far and is not expected to face any problems before the voting closes. In preperation for this radical shift in foreign policy, many nations, including the Empire of the Alexandrians and Slobovia, have decreed that they shall sever all ties with the Dinarchy and recognize the Republic as the sole Antica.

Well, the whole business started when Foghorn requested permission to charter a new Barony under Yardistan. The new barony, the Barony of Netopalis, was officially created through the Ducal Decree #19. Unfortunately, to create the new Barony, Moose decided that it was time to archive the Barony of Amity and Mirioth. But, instead of letting the Barony slip into obscurity, he promoted Greg, the Baron of BAM, to Duke of Shireroth.

As if that wasn't enough, the Kaiser is getting in on the action too. Brookshire, the heavily Babkhan Dutchy, has been absorbed by Shirekeep to become the Kaiserial Realm of Brookshire, as described in the Kaiser's Decree #195. How the Babkhans will react is yet to be seen.

The long awaited opening shots to the "War of Vengeance" in Shireroth are drawing ever nearer. The declaration of war was agreed to and signed by all participating parties, and the time of initiation has been set at Midnight tonight, Pacific Standard Time, or 8 AM Antican Standard Time. All countries that wish to participate are encouraged to do so.

Here's the Declaration of War as agreed upon:

1. The war shall take place in all areas of Micras that are participating in the conflict. That includes any nations that choose to involve themselves besides Shireroth and all unclaimed land.

2. The weapons for use on land in this conflict may be drawn from any era from the Medieval to contemporary modernity. Imaginative combinations of modern and antique shall be looked upon favourably. Magic may be employed by units of 2,000 men or less. Fantastical creatures are also permitted with the understanding that they are mortal and vulnerable to conventional weaponry regardless of their stated powers and abilities.

3. Each beligerent participant shall be alotted a maximum of 5,000 men per unit. The strength per man shall be proportional to the total number of men in the unit at the start of the conflict. No unit shall be stronger than any other at the beginning of the conflict.

4. The conflict shall cease if either of the original beligerent Duchies admits defeat, or the Kaiser of Shireroth declares it over.

5. If the forces of Brookshire are victorious the city of New Kajar shall be destroyed. If the anti-Elwynn Coalition is victorious the city of Ardashirshahr shall be raised to the ground. In the event of a stalemate both cities shall survive.

...the facelift continues! Except this time, it's for the Zulu 5 OScar website at http://zulu5oscar.net.tf. It's been long overdue for an overhaul, and now the overhaul is complete. Well, more or less. Still a few bugs to work out, but it's functional.

As you can tell, there have been some changes made. One significant change is the implementation of an area for advertisments. So, if anyone wants to advertise on our site, contact Foghorn for prices.

Tensions rise in Shireroth

How long has it been since the last Shirerithina civil war? Too long, apparently, because just hours after Kaiser Los II's abdication, the Dutchies of Yardistan, home of the Yardistani Annexation Corps, and Brookshire, home of the largest Babkhan population outside of Babkha, are at each other's throats.

The situation, admittedly cause by Foghorn (the apparent root of all strife in Micras), has been fueled by a fabled mass-murder of Elves in Yardistan by Brookshirerians many, many years ago. After the exchange of unpleasantries, a declaration of war (although still not quite official) has been levied by Yardistan against Brookshire. The reason I say it's not official is that Yardistan is a complete anarchy, and it's very unlikely that any official statement will ever be made. Ever.

The creation of a SNARL forum to host the event has already been requested, and it appears that this will be a good opportunity for the Shirerithians to let off some steam and remedy the overpopulation crisis presented by the recent massive immigration.

In the Assembly Hall, Olorix made the following speech, probably in response to Delphi's speech yesterday:

My fellow citizens of Antica!

Today, some of us have listened to rhetoric emitting from our former fatherland, the Dinarchy of Antica. It truly is the voice of a nation that is struggling against the tide of history, comrades, and a voice of a leader who is fast being consumed by a closing tide that is guaranteed to consume both him and his failing dictatorship.

Why is this a time for a speech in the Republic? This is not to give honour to the Dinarchy, not at all, but rather for me to try and allow us all to gain some sort of vision in near future.

The Republic is a nation of freedom. The Republic is a nation where real democracy exists. The Republic is not an old boys club, but rather a place where everyone is evaluated on their merits and not their loyalty to a dictator.

How do we transfer these ideals into reality, and make them hugely successful? As many ideologues and visionaries have learned, you need to put in hard work to make people listen to you: the popularity of your ideology is nothing to do with the strength of your ideas, but the amount of effort you put into expounding them to a wider audience.

The Republic already has an active legislature, a brilliant constitution, a clear and concise law code, we have much to celebrate already; however, we still have many, many hurdles to overcome.

We still need to get more intermicronational recognition and gain friends who recognise that the Dinarchy is in a clear stage of decline in the micronational world, as it is now retreating into isolationism. We must allow the creation of a culture: a culture that is both state-supported, but also created by individuals here. We need to continue activity levels and continue with great ventures like KZFO, a high quality radio station by citizen Foghorn.

I always have had a dream to be in a micronation that used technology to gain the cutting edge: it was a 'technocratic' ideology that I supported heavily in the Dinarchy of Antica, and I think it's a very viable way for us to move forward. Chatting via large voice conversations on Teamspeak was a true 'great leap forward' for the Dinarchy and stopped the nation from decaying over the Christmas period. We need an equivalent of this in Antica: a new way to easily share random ideas with people and for everyone to voice concerns that they have, before they become full-blown problems.

This speech is made by yet another citizen of the Republic, which I am, but I call on all citizens to join in the revolutionary fervour, to continue with our grand tradition of innovativeness and cutting edge solutions to problems, and finally, we all need to allow a thousand schools of thought and flowers to bloom, to paraphrase Mao Zedong.

If we ignore the criticisms of policy by our own citizens, we are destined to fall into the brutal wheels of autocracy and fascism that seized the Dinarchy.

Onward, Republicans, to a brighter future!

In a conversation, Antican Dinarch Gemini-DC announced that he was Jellodude, a citizen of The Republic of Antica, and a spy for the Dinarchy.

The true identity of Jellodude/Gemini has been known to the Republican government from the very beginning. However, taking a note from the Theonen incidednt back in the Dinarchy, they allowed Gemini to stay.

However, tonight, Gemini announced that he would be leaving Micronationalism for a while, thus leaving Greg as the final trustworthy Dinarchial candidate.

Delphi Augustus deletes posts to win argument

Earlier this weekend, Delphi Augustus locked a thread in which the citizens of the Republic and the Dinarchy were debating the rights of citizens. Why did he do this, you ask? The reason is simple: Delphi was losing the argument, and instead of facing his defeat like a man, he locked the thread.

And now, today, he has begun deleting posts in order to win his argument. In a thread where Olorix, now a Republican citizen, was requesting temporary access to his own work he did on the Antican economy, so as not to have to re-write it from scratch, Gemini-DC aquiesced to the request, but Delphi subsequently attempted to "override" his co-Dinarch's descision. While this smacks of a totalitarian rule to begin with, Delphi Augustus has deleted no less than three posts made by citizens of both the Dinarchy and the Republic in order to win his argument.

This newspaper, while usually attempting to remain neutral on the subject, must once and for all request that all nations cease diplomatic relations until this dictator is brought under control. If he is willing to delete his own citizen's posts to make a point, imagine what he'd do to your diplomatic discussions.

Refugees declare end to Dinarchy

The Republic of Antica, consisting mainly of Antican political refugees including Ex-Dinarch Octavius Me, current Shirerithian MinImNat Foghorn, Steven (Self-proclaimed "Destroyer of all things Dinarchial"), and Entropius.

While the new nation is termed the "Republic" of Antica, no actual government exists. The first job of the Assembly, now convening on Nafticon, is to either pick an existing government to model themselves on, or create another one from the ground up.

Dinarch resigns amidst reforms

No, not the Dinarch you expected. Octavius Me, disgruntled over the timidity of the recent reforms, has abdicated his position of Dinarch.

The revolution, origionally intended to replace the Dinarchy with a Republic, collapsed a few weeks ago and settled for a trial period for an elected dinarchy. The move, acceptable to most Anticans and even Delphi himself, severely pissed off Octavius.

We don't know at this point whether or not Octavius will stick around. However, we (as always) will bring you the latest news, both in print and over the Podcast, as it unfolds.
